FORGIVENESS

Life is difficult without us punishing ourselves. Why do we use every excuse to feel sorry for ourselves and to blame others. We fail to see how everytime someone does something to us, they take the power from us. In some manner we have given our will to them, therefore our power. It is easy enough to recognize immediately those that deliberately look to hurt us physically, emotionally, sexually, mentally and/or financially. We might avoid these direct pitfalls, but when they come disguised as something else such as friendship, love, partnership or comradship, we are blind sided by the ideas presented instead of  the reality of its true nature. Then we are devastated by the outcome. Angry beyond belief with who betrayed us and angry with ourselves for having let it happen, we become obsessed with how we were wronged. Some possibly seeking revenge and others just holding on to the pain of it. But the truth be told, we have to take responsibility for it all. It was our free will that allowed it to happen to us. It is our free will that can set us free from the burden of it. We must tell ourselves, yes this happened, but I forgive them for it. Then even more important, you must forgive yourself.

When you do this, you take back the power that you had relinquished. You make an offering of "Forgiveness" whether they accept it or not. They don't even have to understand why you are doing it. If they have no understanding, they will not understand that you have taken back the power from them. Their actions no longer shackle you. You become FREE! Forgiveness becomes the key to true freedom. It is within us ALL!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

What is it that keeps us all going? Is it our hearts that beat to a rhythm of its own tune? Maybe it's the rays of the sun that beam down upon us. Are we each unique with our individuality because we were made that way or did we create that unique personality that is own?
There is much to us that molds our character and spirit. So many factors in the world around us play a role in being the "Me" that we become. We nourish our minds, spirit and body with foods of all kinds. Some foods from early as a baby, soothe us like suckling the milk from our mother's breast or from a bottle. Others are comfort foods that just make us feel happy such as chocolate. Why do we need to pleasure ourselves in such a manner. Do we proclaim to have a love for food or is it eating? Just eating can be dangerous, but eating for life can make our lives rich is wondrous indeed.
Can we balance our lives with food for the body and for the soul? I believe we can! Just take time to think wisely before you indulge in your fantasy to have whatever you think pleases you. Ask yourself, is this really what I need? Is this good for me? Recognizing the difference between what we want and what we need is critical to our overall well being. If we take this in as "Food For Thought", we most certainly will have engaged in an exercise worthwhile.

Merry-Go-Round or Roller Coaster, which is your Life?

So many of us go about our lives doing the same routines day after day, night after night, week after week, month after month and believe that it is absolutely normal to live an existence that doesn't challenge us. A keen sense of confidence that we are secure in the way that we are living and not to rock the boat. For some reason we feel insecure and even afraid to step off the merry-go-round that we are on.

Once upon a time there was a little girl who lived in a place where, as far as she could see, was a happy place. She had all that she needed and even that she wanted. One day after growing up in this world of hers, she realized that there were all kinds of monsters that wanted and that did hurt her. Being too scared to venture beyond her world, she stayed and became use to fighting off the monsters. But, she became tired, very tired of always wondering when the monsters were coming and what would happen to her this time. She was so tired she did not want to, "be" any more. She thought now being all grown up that she would be able to transform the monster like in the fairytale, Beauty and The Beast. It was not true. The monster she feared was turning her into a monster too, so she refused to be hurt any more.

One night, she lay sleep in her bed dreaming. She dreamed that she was on a beautiful merry-go-round. It was the most beautiful one she had ever seen. She smiled as she went around and around, but she did not see anyone looking on. There was no one waving back and there was no one else on the merry-go-round. It was dark outside the merry-go-round, but off down a path was a light that appeared to be a doorway. She looked around to the inside of the merry-go-round to see where the man was that would stop it, but there was nobody there. In her dream, she asked, "How will I get off?" The answer came to her loud and clear, "Just get off, you hold the key."

That girl was me. I woke from the revelation and made my plans to change my life and get off the merry-go-round that was my life. My life now is absolutely a roller coaster now. There are so many ups and downs and, "Oh Lord", times where I am scared out of my mind. But, thank The Lord, the blessings seem ever so greater once I've coasted with His guidance. Yes there are highs and lows and times you don't know which way is which, but the ride is so much more invigorating than just go around and around on a merry-go-round.

Heavenly Earthlings We Are

Amazing to our eyes to behold is the world in which we live. This place called Earth is actually Heaven sent. We are part of the many creatures that inhabit this Earth, who lose sight of its true magnificence. Behold its wondrous colors throughout and how it revives itself after the death thereof. We, Earthlings that have been sent upon this Earth to thrive and grow have missed its simple beauty.
Heaven sent from above we breathe the air around it, gaze at the stars above it, feed in the water and land within it and still we take so little time to appreciate it.
Today, I give praise and glory to the Master of us all, The Creator and Sustainer of all things. Today I thank The Lord for His Heavenly gift of Earth and being a wonderful part of its splendor. I celebrate today being an Earthling created by Heaven. I will try my best to recognize all the miracles you have bestowed upon me and have Faith in your Wisdom. I am blessed to be one of your "Heavenly Earthlings".

THE YEAR 2010

Another year is upon us. The year of 2010 promises to be filled with anticipation of better things than its predecessor. The journey has been a difficult one for most. We welcomed this new year anxiously hoping that it will lead way to relief in all aspects of our life. Yes, 2010, is under a lot of pressure to succeed on so many levels, but will it live up to our expectations.

This year has come in with a fizzle for me and has left me feeling less than anxious to see what else awaits me along its destined time. I would love to believe that the days, weeks and months to come with have some kind of magic within them that will make this exhausted spirit believe that dreams can come true. Is there "Magic" in this year 2010? Though I dream that this feeling within that has me overwhelmed with all sorts of thoughts will suddenly disappear and I will be "Just Fine" as Mary J. Blige sings.

Will the year 2011 come with no "change" from 2009. Lord help us if this be true. But through the chaos of it all and anxious anticipation, I suspect this year shall be interesting to say the least. My spirit may be challenged but I welcome it. Maybe if we really cheer loudly, the year 2010 will hear our pleas for "change" and oblige us in a most positive way. Then maybe we will feel the "Magic".
